Maximizing Team Potential with the Predictive Index

Building a cohesive and effective team requires more than assigning roles—it demands a deep understanding of individual drives, behaviors, and motivations. The Predictive Index (PI) is a work personality assessment that helps organizations make informed decisions about hiring, team dynamics, and leadership development. Here’s how we use the Predictive Index to strengthen our teams and optimize collaboration.

What is the Predictive Index?

The Predictive Index measures 17 behavioral scales that provide insights into an individual’s work personality. By assessing drives like Dominance, Extraversion, Patience, and Formality, this tool connects personal preferences to workplace behaviors. This data supports decision-making in hiring, managing teams, and developing leadership strategies.

As described by the Predictive Index:

“The Predictive Index measures behavioral drives as well as cognitive ability. PI assessments help leaders understand the needs of specific roles, teams, or strategies, enabling informed decisions about hiring, management, and organizational design.”

At our church, we utilize the Predictive Index to align roles with strengths, foster leadership growth, and enhance collaboration. It serves as a foundation for building teams that are both effective and unified.

    • Seeks long-term stability and familiar routines.

    • Performs well in steady and predictable environments.

  4. Formality: The drive for structure and accuracy.

    • Prefers clarity, organization, and adherence to rules.

    • Focuses on minimizing errors and ensuring precision.
